Metavisual Immersive Room (Uniacque Educational Center)

Located at the heart of the Uniacque water treatment plant in Cologno al Serio, the Educational Center welcomes visitors to an immersive space where the story of water, “I Am Water,” becomes a tangible experience.

Blu Oberon has designed a space where materials, light, and technology come together to tell an emotional story dedicated to the Bergamo region and its integrated water system.

At the center of the room stands the Metavisual Model: a large-scale physical representation of the province of Bergamo that, through video projections, sound, and interaction, comes to life as a landscape in flux. The mountains, waterways, infrastructure, and the invisible traces of the water supply system gradually come into view, weaving a visual narrative that brings to light what normally remains hidden. The interactive display and sensors built into the model allow visitors to actively participate in the narrative. A gesture becomes a discovery; a touch sparks scenes; questions and answers from quizzes for adults and children translate into light, movement, and visible consequences.

Surrounding the Metavisual Model, the room creates a symbolic landscape: the seats—river pebbles designed by Marcel Wanders for Slide—invite visitors to linger; luminous filaments trace the flow of water in the air; the backlit parametric wall reflects the undulating rhythm of the liquid medium; while the passage of visitors modulates the liquid light passage like a perceptual threshold.

The result is a space to be experienced: a place where knowledge becomes emotion, water becomes a story, and technology blends seamlessly into the wonder of the experience.
